The Response of Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris L.) Genotypes at Different Ploidy Levels to Salt (NaCl) Stress

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) is cultivated in temperate climates worldwide to produce sugar. The production of sugar and other plants danger due the world’s increasingly salinized soils. Although different genotypes exist at various ploidy levels, most them are diploid (2X) with 18 chromosomes. majority polyploid have variations, morphologies, anatomy. Diploid especially morphology, physiology, cellularity, biochemistry. As a result, polyploidy has been identified as an essential component determining plant salt tolerance. To evaluate effects (NaCl) stress on genotypes, (2X), triploid (3X), tetraploid (4X) were exposed 0 (control), 50, 150 mM NaCl concentrations for seven weeks. Under control conditions, genotype showed higher growth performance compared (3X) respectively. Regarding germination early-stage performance, reduction about 50% was observed under condition. germination, greater tolerance index, better seedling than levels. Late-stage growth, leaf length, width, area, cytological findings, total chlorophyll content all shown be less reduced (around 30%) genotypes. Even though findings this study decrease when (NaCl), level displayed more robust development

Sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.).

Creating transgenic plants is invaluable for the genetic analysis of sugar beet and will be increasingly important as sugar beet genomic technologies progress. A protocol for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of sugar beet is described in this chapter. Our protocol is optimized for a sugar beet genotype that performs exceptionally well in tissue culture, including the steps of dedifferentia...

A morphogenetic crop model for sugar-beet (Beta vulgaris L.)

This paper is the instructions for the proceeding of the International Symposium on Crop. Sugar beet crop models have rarely taken into account the morphogenetic process generating plant architecture despite the fact that plant architectural plasticity plays a key role during growth, especially under stress conditions. The objective of this paper is to develop this approach by applying the Gree...

EVALUATING SALT TOLERANT COTTON GENOTYPES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF NaCl STRESS IN SOLUTION AND SOIL CULTURE

The study was carried out to compare generally used screening methods for salt tolerance: (i) a seedling-based, solution culture method, (ii) plant yield-based, soil method. The physiological and ionic analyses were used for comparisons of methodologies along with yield in soil based systems. The two methods were similar to each other by reproducing similar rankings for genotypes across the met...

effect of freezing stress on some of sugar beet (beta vulgaris l.) genotypes electrolyte leakage

in general, spring cultivation of sugar beet is prevalent, but nowadays because of water sources limitation and also plants low water use efficiency in this time of cultivation, autumn cultivation is growing up. several assessments also have showed that in compare with spring cultivation, autumn cultivation of sugar beet has other benefits including reducing the likelihood of plant disease and ...
